Lemosho Route
The scenic all-rounder with the best odds of summiting.
Overview
Widely regarded as the most beautiful way up Kilimanjaro. Starting on the quiet western side, Lemosho crosses rainforest, the vast Shira Plateau, alpine desert and the icy summit zone. Its longer profile gives your body time to acclimatise, which is why it has one of the highest success rates on the mountain.
Why climbers love it
- ▲ Highest summit success rates of any route
- ▲ Remote, uncrowded western approach
- ▲ Colobus monkeys in the Londorossi rainforest
- ▲ The dramatic Shira Plateau and Lava Tower
